Subscription terms

Subscription terms.

These are the standard terms of Open Hours plans, published so you can read them before you create an account. The terms shown before checkout, and kept in your account afterwards, are the ones that apply to your subscription.

Plan and allowance

Each plan covers one venue and one simultaneous stream in the country where the venue is located. Add another plan for each additional venue. The plan includes playback of the Open Hours catalogue and the permission described in the customer licence.

Free trial

New plans start with a 7-day free trial. A card is required to start it. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid the first subscription payment; otherwise the plan you chose starts and is charged when the trial ends.

Billing and renewal

Monthly plans are billed every month and yearly plans are paid upfront for the year. Plans renew automatically until you cancel. The amount, currency and tax presentation shown at checkout apply. Payments are processed by Stripe.

Cancellation

Cancel at any time from Account, under Subscription & licence. Access continues until the end of the current paid period. Cancelling during the trial avoids the first subscription payment.

Refunds

You may request a refund of your first subscription payment within 14 days of that payment. Renewal payments are not routinely refunded pro rata. This does not affect any mandatory rights you have under the law of your country.

Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, access can continue for a grace period of up to 3 days while the payment is retried or you update your payment details.

Conditions for each country

Australia

For ordinary venue-background playback of only the Open Hours catalogue, the direct-permission route supports no additional music-rights payment to the collective for this repertoire. This is an inference from the cited guidance and Escalera's confirmed retention/direct licensing of the composition and recording rights (shared source record escalera-ace-source-control-2026-09-24). It is not an AI exemption or permission to play other repertoire. Existing venue agreements are not automatically terminated, and service-delivery rights remain Open Hours' responsibility.

What you need to do: Keep the Open Hours licence record. If replacing an existing music source, check the scope and cancellation terms of any existing society agreement; do not assume it ends automatically.

United States

For ordinary in-venue background playback of only this directly authorized catalogue, no additional music-rights payment is identified: musical-work performance can be authorized by its rightsholder, and the federal sound-recording performance right concerns digital audio transmissions. This conclusion relies on the centrally controlled catalogue, not an AI exemption. Open Hours remains responsible for rights in its service delivery. Other repertoire, existing agreements, retransmission and uses outside this offer are not covered.
