A special date takes precedence over weekly slots and gap music for the whole venue-local day. Save it to the venue schedule; a draft alone does not change playback.
Decide whether a whole-day change fits
Use this option when the whole date needs one musical direction or silence: a closure, a different service pattern or a particular day's atmosphere. It is a date exception, not a separate weekly timetable or a guarantee of seasonal songs in the catalogue.
The current special-date option cannot describe separate opening, lunch and evening blocks just for that date. If you need several changes within one exceptional day, do not assume one override can hold them. Plan the operation separately and check the intended saved schedule before relying on it.
Check the venue's timezone first
The date belongs to the venue timezone shown in the schedule, not the timezone of a laptop used to edit it. Check that setting before adding an exception, particularly if you manage a venue from another country. A whole-day override begins and ends at the boundaries of that venue-local calendar date.
Browsing language does not choose a venue timezone or country. Keep the business location, time setting and offer details separate when setting up the account.
Add the date and choose music or silence
Open the venue schedule and find Special dates. Choose Add special date, select the date and choose the available music you want, or silence for a closure. Review the date and selection before saving. An existing exception for that date should be edited rather than added again.
Use Save draft if you are still deciding; it preserves the draft without replacing the active rules. Use Save schedule when the exception is ready to become part of the saved venue schedule. If a selected programme is unavailable for that venue, choose another available option before activation.
- One override per date: edit the existing entry when the plan changes.
- Silence: replaces the day's weekly music and gap music.
- Station: a continuing direction while playback remains active.
- Ordered collection: plays once for the dated selection; check its finite duration.
Include the overnight boundary in your check
A special date also replaces music carried over from a weekly slot that started the previous night. For example, a silent closure on a chosen Friday means Thursday's late slot cannot keep playing into that Friday under the weekly schedule.
The weekly rules apply again on the following date, but a weekly slot that would have started on the overridden date does not reappear as overnight carry. Check what should play after midnight as well as during opening hours. Gap music may apply on the following day when no weekly slot is active.
Verify the saved state, then follow it
Check the saved schedule's current and next status rather than treating an unsaved edit as the active plan. When you want browser playback to follow it, choose Follow saved schedule. Manual listening is a separate mode and does not become scheduled playback just because the exception has been saved.
Keep the workspace open on an awake, connected device. The saved browser schedule is not a promise that a closed browser will wake itself or start music unattended. Test the relevant handovers on the equipment used in your venue.
Edit an exception without losing the ordinary week
Return to the dated entry to change its music, or remove the override if that date should use the normal weekly rules. Save the schedule again to apply the change. Do not delete and rebuild the weekly timetable just to handle one exceptional date.
If another tab or colleague has changed the schedule, review the newer saved version before trying to apply your edits. Keep a short note of the intended date, selection and person responsible, then use the full-day planning guide for the ordinary week around it.
